Welcome to the new blog site for 4:4 No More, a ministry of North River Community Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The mission of the North River Community Church is "to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, to bring hope to the hurting through Jesus Christ to the glory of God." 4:4 No More is an endeavor to help realize that mission in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The name of this ministry derives from Lamentations 4:4: "The tongue of the infant sticks to the roof of its mouth for thirst; the children beg for food, but no one gives them anything."
While we acknowledge and celebrate those dedicated people who are proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and working to alleviate hunger and thirst among the poorest children in the world, we continue to see children who are suffering, children who are destitute, and children who are powerless to help themselves.
Our desire is to come along side of and support those Christian ministries who are giving themselves to the alleviation of poverty among the poorest poor in Latin America and the Caribbean. We do not want to be numbered among those who either stand idly by or who wring their hands thinking there is nothing that can be done.
We want to pray, to be informed, to be involved and support those who are laboring for Christ among the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean.
We see 4:4 No More as a ministry and a movement.
4:4 No More is a Ministry...
Through this ministry, we seek to:
Pray for those who are impoverished and without adequate water, food and education in Latin America and the Caribbean
Educate ourselves and others in the Body of Christ as to the conditions of the the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean and
Raise financial support and partner with Christian ministries in Latin America and the Caribbean to help alleviate conditions of poverty in the name of Jesus Christ
4:4 No More is a Movement...
Through this movement, we seek to..
Join with other churches in reaching out to the poor in Latin America and the Carribean and support efforts to ease the stresses of poverty in the name of Jesus Christ
Join with other ministries in support of projects consistent with the ministry of 4:4 No More and
Pray for those who are laboring among the poor to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ through ministries that seek to alleviate poverty.
We intend to accomplish these ends through ministries of prayer, education and fund-raising.
